With a history as colorful as the cake itself, Red Velvet cake has grown to be a holiday tradition. Chocolaty flavor and rich red color make any occasion special when Red Velvet is served. Frost with cream cheese or buttercream frosting. Mix makes one pound loaf.

1 bag Red Velvet Cake Mix
1/2 cup softened butter
2 beaten eggs
2/3 cup milk
Combine contents of this package with softened butter, milk, and eggs. Blend well with mixer. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan and bake at 325°F for approximately 50-58 minutes. Gently remove from oven. Let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Yield: 8 – 10 servings.

4 tablespoons softened butter
4 ounces softened cream cheese
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
2 cups powdered sugar
Combine butter and cream cheese in bowl. Beat until creamy and lump free. Add vanilla and salt. Gradually add powdered sugar, mix until well combined. Spread on cake.
