Sugar Cookie Mix
The unpretentious sugar cookie’s history dates to seventh century Persia. Our Sugar Cookie Mix is simple to prepare and yields a tasty golden vanilla cookie. While this historical confection has lasted for centuries, our guess is these cookies will disappear quickly from your cookie jar!
OLD SCHOOL MILLS
1 bag Sugar Cookie Mix
1 beaten egg
14 tablespoons softened butter
Combine contents of bag with butter and a beaten egg. Blend with mixer to form dough. Chill dough until firm enough to shape into 1″ balls, roll in sugar, and place on baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 9 – 11 minutes, or until light brown. Yield: about 24 cookies.
FOR ROLL OUT SUGAR COOKIES
Roll out chilled dough on floured board, dusting with flour on top and bottom. Cut to desired shape, place cookie on cookie sheet and bake as directed above.
