More About the Maker: Fog Linen Work was born in Tokyo in 1999, when founder Yumiko Sekine set out to find the linen pieces she remembered from childhood — simple, well-made, designed for everyday life. She couldn't find them in Japan, so she went looking. Her search led her to Lithuania, where flax has been grown and linen woven since the Middle Ages, and where she found artisans who could make exactly what she had in mind. What began as seven linen essentials has grown into one of the world's most quietly beloved linen brands — named, with characteristic poetry, after Yumiko's two favorite fog-wrapped cities: San Francisco and London.

Every Fog Linen Work piece is made from pure linen — one of the most naturally sustainable fibers available, requiring no irrigation, no pesticides, and biodegrading completely at end of life. Designed in Tokyo. Made in Lithuania, Japan, and India. Unfussy, functional, and made to last.
