More About the Maker:

Rose Hill Farm has been a working fruit farm since 1798, and have been producing low-intervention wines, ciders, and co-ferments since 2018.

The orchard is highly unique, cultivating an impressive 160 distinct varieties of apples ranging from classic dessert options to rare, heirloom cider apples like the Redfield.

Rather than relying on chemical-heavy conventional farming, Rose Hill Farm embraces a holistic philosophy called Ecological Orchard Management. They prioritize the health of the entire ecosystem over producing cosmetically flawless fruit. Their growing practices include: Soil & Fungal Health: Actively building up organic matter in the soil to promote a rich fungal understory that naturally nourishes and protects tree roots; Foliar Nutrition: The team feeds the trees directly through foliar applications of organic materials to encourage the growth of beneficial microorganisms; EcoCertified Distinction: All apples grown at Rose Hill are EcoCertified. This specialized regional designation aligns closely with organic practices, strictly auditing the orchard to ensure they build soil health, protect wild pollinators, and only utilize highly scrutinized, eco-friendly disease preventions when absolutely necessary; To prevent fungal diseases naturally, the farm team meticulously gathers overripe "drop fruit" from the orchard floor at the end of every picking day.

You can visit Rose Hill farm and pick your own apples! Find them in Red Hook, New York.
